DW Dance Newsletter # 4 of Term 1 2010

I firstly want to say a massive congratulations and a big thank you to all those students who performed at Bass Hill on Saturday. I have had feed back from those that watched, Cynthia from Bass Hill Plaza and mums of dancers. All have told me that you guys were FANTASTIC. So thank you. I am really very proud of you all. Congrats to the mums as well for being organized and on time. J

Stockings:

I am doing another stocking order over the next 2 weeks. Please fill out the sheet that is at dancing if you want them. All stockings are $10.00 each and must be paid for beforehand.

DW Dance Printed Uniforms:

Our fantastic, custom new uniforms with new logos are now ready to be ordered. The order form is at dancing. Shirts are kids $25 and Adults $28 and Jackets kids $70 and Adults $75 each.

The website – www.dwdanceacademy.com.au is the easiest way for all parents and students to get information ASAP. Please constantly check the website as I am always updating this with new info and pictures.

COSTUME DEPOSIT: Please see me this week for your invoice.

Please pay this in a separate envelope marked with your details on it, by week 8 please.

A costume deposit is required for EVERY student who will de doing the concert. EVERY CLASS WILL DO AT LEAST 1 DANCE in the concert.

A COSTUME DEPOSIT of $20.00 PER COSTUME, PER CHILD is due in WEEK 8 of this term that is 3 weeks from now which is between the $15 and 19 March. This money pays for the material to be imported, so the costumes can be made. Therefore if your child does tiny tot Jazz, tap and ballet, then you will need to pay $60.00 costume deposit.

As like last year, most costumes will not exceed $30.00 each in total. For a dance costume, this is exceptionally cheap!!

Costume washing care instructions:

Over the last few weeks, I have had conversations to very stressed mums and students who have wrecked their costumes by washing them incorrectly. Please follow these care instructions so we don’t have any more washing disasters please.

· Cold hand wash only. DO NOT WASH IN WASHING MACHINE !!

· No softener, bleach or stain remover spray or soaker.

· Gentle detergent or “Sard’s” wondersoap

· Only wash dirty or stained area and rub by hand or by sponging, cold water rinse off.

· Do not wash feathers, sequins, net, or flowers and trims.

· Hang out on coat hanger, in shade only, not in direct sunlight.

If you do have any costume washing issues, please see me ASAP so they can be fixed, or perhaps re made if need be L

Mums in the rooms:

We are having a watching week, the last week of term, so all the mums, dads and even grandma’s can come and watch the dancing classes, to see how their children are progressing. We are asking that from now on, ALL MUMS wait out side (where they can still watch) the rooms, especially on Tuesday classes as the children are finding it very distracting.
