PLEASE MAKE THOSE DATES AVAILABLE.

DUE TO ITEMS NOT BEING PAID FOR, WE HAVE LOST OUR BOOKING, THEREFORE HAVE HAD TO CHANGE DATES.

DW Dance Newsletter Week 8 Term 3 –TERM 3!!!!!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY

Firstly I would like to say Happy Father’s Day to all the dads at DW Dance. I hope all our dads had a great father’s day.

MONIES OWING NOW URGENT: TAP EXAMS AND TERM 4 FEES ALSO DUE VERY SOON

At present, with outstanding fees for new costumes, exams, stockings, competitions and class fees, I am out of pocket around $2,000.00. PLEASE pay your outstanding monies. Even paying off, little by little,

CONCERT COSTUMES HAVE BEEN STARTED – SOME FINISHED

Amazingly, some of our wonderful costumes, have even been finished, and will be brought to dancing to be tried on, over the next few weeks to ensure some particular items fit. Please assist this by helping Mrs Taylor put on, and take off costumes and clothes, when needed.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PAID ALL DEPOSITS ON COSTUMES. Final figures are being put together and the total costume invoices will come out shortly.

BONES:

I am on the look out for some small plastic bones (i.e. Pebbles and Bam bam – caveman/cavewoman etc) If you see any around PLEASE let me know.

HELP MAKE OUR PROPS PLEASE DAD’S AND GRANDPA’S:

For our wonderful concert I need several large props made. If you know someone who is good at making wooden items, or who is good with a jigsaw, please ask them to help, and please let me know. These items are not difficult, if someone has the right tools.

Items needed:

*              1 large Jeanie Lamp (folds down on hinges and held with back support)

*              2 Medium sized dinosaurs (on wheels to pull along)

*              1 Cut out line of a child’s bed (folds in half with hinges and held with back support)

Possibly more if I can get the help needed. J

EMAILING OF NEWSLETTERS:

As from next term I will be emailing the newsletters as well as posting them on the website. I will only be printing items that are of particular nature, or that only relate to a particular class.

Please make sure that your email details are up to date. If you have changed your email SINCE REGISTERING your child, please let me know, ASAP. If you do not want your letters emailed, let me know and I can print you a copy.

ITEMS NEEDED FOR CONCERT:

Most items that you will need for the concert will come as part of your costumes, however the below items will be needed by certain classes. You can purchase these from where ever, especially if you see them around, on sale.

Int Hip Hop –                                                        Black plain cargo pants

Int and senior –                                                    Body stocking if wanted

Any modern / contemporary dance –               Foot thongs (Bloch only)

All jazz students and tap students:                  BONE or TAN coloured shoes

Boys –                                                                    Black, Red and White bonds singlets

Tiny Tots Taps:                                                    White fold down socks with lace (if no lace, PLS buy some and sew it on)

ALL:                                                                        Correct and proper dancing underwear. Seam free, clear straps.

Shimmer stockings for jazz and tap

Pink Ballet stocking for ballet and Ballet shoes with ribbons sewn on correctly.

Tan colored convertibles for modern / contemporary

DW dance Academy 2010 Concert “CARNIVALE” TICKETS:

Tickets will be on sale from Monday 8th November:

Adults: $20.00

School age children and pensioners (Seniors) $15.00

Children from 3 – 5 (who will sit in a seat) $10.00

(If your child is younger than this, I suggest sitting on a lap or in a stroller.)

Parents of students dancing and getting changed can sit on “Changers Tables” for $10.00. Those tables will be closet to the dressing rooms. If you wish to sit with your family then a normal ticket price $20.00 will apply.

As this is in a club auditorium there will be long rectangular tables that will sit between 8 and 10 people per table. I suggest you try and organize so you can purchase a table at a time. Last year we sold 180 tickets. I will be selling about 230 -250 tickets this year and expect to sell all of these :). Also as it is a club, you can purchase meals and drinks from other areas of the club and bring them into the auditorium. So get your friends together now, organize the night so that you all have dinner at the club – or get a few plates of food and jugs of drinks, and be at your table for a fantastic show.

I expect just about all parents to help change children backstage. Even help those around you, especially those with 3 children, or who are in many items. Once you have finished, you can go and sit at the changers tables. You will get to see the whole concert…..when you buy the DVD J J

Thanks so much. See you in Class.  PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE FOR DW DIARY DATE CHANGES AND OTHER UPDATES.

If you have ordered ballet stockings from me, these are still to be delivered. There was an issue with the company’s supplier. Those who have orders shimmers and convertibles, these are now in, and are $10.00 per pair.

***           STOLEN MONEY – UTTERLY DISGUSTED!!!!

Unfortunately, whilst I was away last Tuesday, we had $70.00 stolen from the money tin. By the way in which it was done, I believe it to be a student or a sibling of a student. I am absolutely heartbroken over this. I put not only my time and money into my business, but my heart and soul. I believe us to be like a family. I am sickened to think that someone has stolen from within our little community. I have spoken to several different people about the events on Tuesday. If it was you, please return the money. If you know it was your child, please return the money. Even if you do this anonymously.  I have spoken to the police about this incident, and this person may have got away with the crime, but I am hoping their conscience will get the better of them. This was not your money to take. Whilst I have spoken to both Katherine and Ruth about the money tin being unattended I would still never think that someone from DW Dance would take this money. I was very, very saddened to hear this news. My trust has been severely tested.

ITEMS COMING UP:

We have been asked again, to participate in the Bankstown Children’s festival. This is on Sat 25th Sept. I had originally said NO to this performance as I will not be here, I will be in Adelaide judging and I won’t have anyone to be responsible for the children.

If you are interested in performing, whether it is a solo, duo, trio or group let me know ASAP, so I can get the details to the organizers.

We have also been asked to participate in Mc Happy Day on 13th November, at Nth Parramatta MacDonald’s. I need to know now who can perform. Again, duo’s, trios, solos or groups. I need to timetable these events. So please let me know and then book that date in your diary.

We have also been asked to dance at an Irish Community Function in November at St Marys.  The date for this is still being confirmed. This will be an evening performance. I would only like to do Teddy bear’s picnic, Daena, Reena and Alice tap or modern Trio, The Right Now Jazz, perhaps Boom Boom Pow and the pink and black tap. Normally they have Irish dancers performing, but this year they have asked us instead J

TERM 4 FEES:

As we are in week 7, the term 4 fees, for those that wish to pay upfront, will be due in 2 weeks. There will be discounts. If you pay in week 10 of this term you will 10% discount, if you pay in the 1st week of next term, you will get 5% discount. Term 4 is a 9 week term. Please be aware that these fees are coming up and start organizing your fees.  PLEASE SEE THE NEW TERM 4 TIMETABLE TO WORK OUT YOUR FEES.
